GTA 6 Vice City Map: Leonida's Miami-Style City
Vice City is the big city of Leonida, on the south-east coast of the state. It is where GTA 6 is centred, and it is the place most people picture when they think of the game. This guide covers what Rockstar Games has shown of the city, what you will likely do there, how it compares to the Vice City of 2002, and what is still only a rumour. The game launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
What Vice City is
Rockstar sums the city up in one line on the official GTA 6 website: "The glamour, hustle, and greed of America captured in a single city." It is one of the regions Rockstar has named and described for Leonida, and the only one built as a dense, modern metropolis.

The same page names four places inside it. Ocean Beach, with pastel art deco hotels on white sand. Little Cuba, with its busy bakeries. The Tisha-Wocka flea market, known for knock-off brands. And the VC Port, which Rockstar calls the cruise ship capital of the world. Rockstar never names a real city, but beaches, art deco and a Cuban neighbourhood point clearly at Miami.
What you do there
The first trailer, released in December 2023, opens on the Vice City skyline and returns to the city again and again: beaches, crowded nightclubs, and short clips styled like social media posts. The second trailer, from May 2025, follows Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, the two leads, through the same streets.
So far Rockstar has shown a city for driving, partying and getting into trouble. Fast cars on wide boulevards, boats on the water, helicopters over the towers. The official story text says an easy score goes wrong for the pair and drags them into a conspiracy that stretches across Leonida. Rockstar has not said which missions take place in the city itself.
How it compares
Vice City first appeared in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City in 2002, set in the 1980s. That version was small by today's standards: two islands, neon, and a soundtrack of the decade. The new city keeps the name, the art deco and the beach culture, but it is set in the present day, with phones, social media and modern cars.
The closer comparison for many readers is Los Santos in GTA 5. Both are the one big city of their state, with the countryside built around them. Los Santos was Los Angeles, Vice City is Miami. Where Los Santos had hills and freeways, Vice City has beaches, bridges and water on almost every side.
Why it matters
Most of the game's people, traffic and shops will be here, and the other regions are measured by their distance from it. The Leonida Keys run south of the city, and Grassrivers spreads out inland. A golden-hour flyover that Rockstar added to its website in June 2026 shows a skyline, a port with shipping containers, a ferris wheel, boats and helicopters, which gives a rough sense of the scale.
What this likely means for players:
- Most shops, restaurants and hotels in the game will sit here. 72 hotels are on our map so far across Leonida.
- Nightlife and beaches as places to spend time, not only backdrops.
- Water traffic around the port, judging by the boats in every official look at the city.
- Police presence to match a big city, though Rockstar has not shown how it works.
Leaks and community findings
What we do not know yet
Rockstar has not released an official world map, so the borders of Vice City and the list of its neighbourhoods are unknown. Our map uses the fan-made reconstruction by the GTA VI Community Mapping Project, built from trailers, screenshots and official artwork. It is the best picture there is, and it is not official.
We also do not know which buildings can be entered. A pre-order bonus description from Rockstar mentions the Vercetti Estate, the mansion from the 2002 game, but that does not confirm the estate is on the map. This guide gets rewritten once the game is out on November 19, 2026.
