GTA 6 Grassrivers Map: Leonida's Everglades-Style Swamp
Not all of Leonida is beaches and nightlife. Between the cities lies Grassrivers, a huge stretch of wetland modeled on the Florida Everglades. It is one of the six regions Rockstar has officially confirmed for GTA 6, and it might be the most dangerous one. Here is where Grassrivers sits on the map and what we know before the game launches on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Where is Grassrivers?
Grassrivers covers a large part of southern Leonida, inland from Vice City. On our map you can see how the wetlands spread out between the coast and the rest of the state, with roads cutting through and waterways winding everywhere in between.
Keep in mind that Rockstar has not released an official world map or exact borders for Grassrivers. Our map is based on the fan-made reconstruction by the GTA VI Community Mapping Project, built from trailers, screenshots and official artwork. It is the best picture we have right now, but it is not official.

How to get around
Roads only take you so far in a swamp. Based on what Rockstar has shown, the airboat looks like the signature vehicle of Grassrivers: flat, fast, and built for shallow water where normal boats get stuck. Expect to mix road trips on the edges of the region with airboat runs through the middle.
What to expect when you play
From the trailers and screenshots, Grassrivers looks built for:
- Airboat rides and chases through narrow waterways and open grassland
- Wildlife encounters, with alligators front and center
- Fishing in the swamp's quieter corners
- Poaching and smuggling, judging by the gator hunters in official screenshots
- Police chases that do not stop where the road ends
After release we will update the map with more locations such as safehouses, hidden spots and collectibles.
Plan your swamp trip with the map
On GTA6.city you can save locations on the map and share them with friends. Mark the spots you want to explore first, or plan a route from Vice City straight into the wetlands.
Questions and answers
Is Grassrivers based on the Everglades?
Yes. The flooded grassland, mangroves, airboats and alligators all point to the Florida Everglades, even though Rockstar never names the real place.
Are there alligators in GTA 6?
Yes. Rockstar names alligators as the best-known wildlife in Grassrivers, and they appear in official screenshots and trailers.
Can you drive an airboat in GTA 6?
An airboat is shown crossing Grassrivers in the first trailer, so it looks very likely you can use one.
Is there an official map of Grassrivers?
As of publication date, not yet. Rockstar has not published a world map. Our interactive map uses the community reconstruction and will be updated once the game is out.
