GTA 6 Mount Kalaga National Park: Leonida's Wild North
Not every part of Leonida is beaches and neon. Up on the state's northern border lies Mount Kalaga National Park, a stretch of forest, rivers and canyons as far from Vice City as the map gets. This guide covers where it sits on the map and what Rockstar has revealed about it ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch.
Wild, Wild Country
Rockstar's tagline for Mount Kalaga is "Wild, Wild Country." The park is a national landmark pressed up against Leonida's northern border, and Rockstar sells it as room to breathe after the crowds of the south.
Rockstar names three things to do here: hunting, fishing and off-road trails. Official screenshots back that up, with a hunter stalking deer under the pines, dirt bikes on a forest trail and people paddling on the river.
Who lives in the backwoods
The park itself is quiet, but the woods around it are not empty. Rockstar says the surrounding backwoods are home to "hillbilly mystics and paranoid radicals" who live there to stay out of sight of the government.

That makes Mount Kalaga more than scenery. Expect isolated cabins, people who don't want visitors and the kind of strange side stories Rockstar likes to hide far from the city.
Wildlife on Mount Kalaga
A hunting ground needs something to hunt. Rockstar's own Mount Kalaga screenshots show white-tailed deer, cougars and foxes. Across Leonida as a whole, Rockstar has confirmed more than 170 animal species, so the park is likely to hold more than these three.
Why Mount Kalaga matters
Mount Kalaga gives Leonida contrast. Vice City is about money and nightlife. Mount Kalaga is about getting away from all of it. For players, that likely means:
- Hunting and fishing as real activities, not just background detail
- Off-road trails for dirt bikes and 4x4s
- Rivers and canyons, good for exploring and taking photos
- Remote backroads, good for long drives and escapes
Players who spent hours in the wilderness of Red Dead Redemption 2 will probably feel at home here. That comparison comes from fans, though. Rockstar has confirmed hunting exists, not how deep the system goes.
