Meet Lucia Caminos: Out of Prison and Into Leonida GTA 6

Lucia Caminos is one of the two playable leads in GTA 6, alongside Jason Duval. She was the first character Rockstar Games showed, in Trailer 1 in December 2023, and Trailer 2 and the launch trailer of October 2026 have added to her story since. This guide covers who she is according to Rockstar, how she and Jason fit together, where in Leonida she belongs, and what is still unknown before the game launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.

Who Lucia is according to Rockstar

Rockstar's character page says Lucia's father taught her to fight as soon as she could walk, and that life has been coming at her swinging ever since. Fighting for her family is what landed her in Leonida Penitentiary. Luck got her out. The same page mentions the better life her mother dreamed of back in Liberty City, and makes clear that Lucia does not plan to wait for anyone to hand it to her.

Trailer 1 opened with her in prison, and both early trailers show her getting out. The launch trailer, released on October 15, 2026, goes back to that time once more: it shows Lucia calling Jason from prison.

Lucia and Jason together

Rockstar's story summary is the same for both of them. An easy score goes wrong, and it pulls Lucia and Jason into a criminal conspiracy that stretches across Leonida. To get through it, they have to rely on each other more than ever. Rockstar's page on Jason says meeting Lucia could be the best or the worst thing that ever happens to him.

The trailers show what that looks like. Trailer 1 ended with the two of them robbing a store together. In the launch trailer, Lucia asks Jason whether they are going to be okay, and he answers that they have stuck together through everything. Our guide to Jason Duval covers his side: the Army, the drug runners and the Keys.

What she does in the trailers

The launch trailer gives Lucia most of its action. It shows her inside what looks like a bank vault, leaping from a moving truck towards a plane on a runway, and riding in a helicopter with a grenade launcher. It also shows her with Jason and Raul Bautista at a construction site. Rockstar describes Raul as a seasoned bank robber who is always looking for talent.

Rockstar has not said which missions these scenes come from or in what order they happen. What the trailers do make clear is that Lucia is not a passenger in this story. She fights, she drives, and she is in the middle of the heists.

Where Lucia belongs in Leonida

The one place Rockstar ties directly to Lucia is Leonida Penitentiary, where her story in Leonida starts. Rockstar has named the prison but has not said where in the state it stands. Liberty City, the other place in her bio, is where her family comes from, not a place in Leonida.

Once she is out, her life runs alongside Jason's, and his is rooted in the Keys. Our Leonida Keys guide covers that part of the map. Rockstar has not said whether Lucia lives there with him, and the conspiracy, by its own summary, takes both of them across the whole state, with Trailer 2 spending much of its time in Vice City.

Leaks and community findings

What we do not know yet

Rockstar has not named the actor who plays Lucia. It has not said what she did to end up in prison, how long she was there, or exactly how the game opens. It has not shown how switching between Lucia and Jason works, or how the story is split between them.

Rockstar has also not released an official map, so the location of Leonida Penitentiary is not known. Our map uses the fan-made reconstruction by the GTA VI Community Mapping Project, and any location on it is the community's best reading, not a confirmed spot. This guide gets rewritten once the game is out on November 19, 2026.
