Not every part of Leonida looks like a holiday postcard. On the western edge of the state lies Port Gellhorn, a coastal town in Kelly County that is well past its prime. This guide covers where it sits on the map and what Rockstar has revealed about it ahead of the November 19, 2026 launch.
A vacation spot gone to seed
Port Gellhorn used to be a popular vacation spot. Today it is a run-down coastal town that most of the tourists have left. Rockstar describes cheap motels, shut-down attractions and empty strip malls that won't bring the visitors back.
A new economy has filled the gap. According to Rockstar, it runs on malt liquor, painkillers and truck stop energy drinks. Small-time criminals thrive here, and the story can get dirty.
Dirt bikes and empty wallets
Rockstar's own description ends by telling players to get on a dirt bike and hold onto their wallet. That points to off-road riding as part of life in Port Gellhorn, and to locals who will happily take your money.
The trailers show the same rough edge. One shot in the preview footage appears to be set in Port Gellhorn, with locals throwing a computer monitor off a bridge onto a freeway. In the second trailer, Lucia wears a shirt that reads "Gellhorn International."
The other side of Leonida
Port Gellhorn is the opposite of glossy Vice City, and that is deliberate. It shows a version of Leonida that never appears in the travel brochures. Players who know GTA 5's Sandy Shores will likely feel at home here.
Why Port Gellhorn matters
Port Gellhorn gives Leonida contrast. Vice City is about money and nightlife. Port Gellhorn is about what remains after the money moves on. For players, that likely means:
- Small-town hustles instead of big-city crime
- Dirt bikes and off-road riding
- Faded tourist spots such as old motels and closed attractions, good for exploring
- Quiet coastal roads, good for long drives and escapes
